Due to the changes introduced by GDPR in terms of persons on the register ‘opting in’ to email communication preferences and so on, we have recently had to email all our registrants to ask them if they want to remain on the register (previously we did not give them a positive choice to opt in we simply included our DPA wording and advised them that we may contact them from time to time).
My concern is that with all our mail boxes being clogged up with similar requests, we have had a staggeringly low response rate. After a period of time I gather that anyone who has not replied will have to be wiped from our database and we are looking at hundreds of registrants being deleted.
I would appreciate hearing from other LA’s and your approaches to GDPR and the Register?
