Work has now begun on the £1m infrastructure, drainage and servicing works for the plots on the Wynyard Park development, about eight miles south west of Hartlepool.
The developer behind the scheme was taken aback by the speed with which the plots were sold, and he now plans to provide more opportunities for self-builders in further phases of the 885 acre project. The generous sized plots typically sold for between roughly £200,000 and £300,000 each.
The project features in the Toolkit in our Briefing Note on Design Codes – https://righttobuildtoolkit.org.uk/briefing-notes/design-codes-and-plot-passports/#
Wynyard Park development director Matt Johnson said:
“More and more people are becoming aware of the advantages of self-build.We give buyers a ten-point plan to help them plot the journey from purchasing the land through to popping the Champagne cork in a house they have literally made their own.”
