We decided we did not have the manpower to deal with project managing servicing ourselves and that as we had no-one with experience of dealing with utility companies we would let the experts do it instead.

We invited small and medium local builders to book an hour slot to come and discuss approaches to providing serviced plots. This was extremely useful and helped us write the tender documents so we could invite them to tender for the work. One of them had mentioned that they could get their architect to provide images for marketing so this was also required as part of the tender.

We obtained outline consent prior to tendering so they were aware of what needed to be done to satisfy planning conditions before quoting. The winning company are just about to satisfy the last conditions so they can start on site and they expect the plots to be ready to sell in 15 weeks.

This is an excellent example of how you can bring forward serviced plots! This approach is v. common in Germany- look at our rural case study for Oberleichtersbach.
