Self and Custom Build Exception policy

    I want to propose an exception site policy for self build. Has anyone else done this in for an urban area rather than rural? Any comments/ideas?

    Although our toolkit refers to exception sites as a useful tool to secure self and custom build housing (and national policy does not rule this out given the new legislation in the 2015 and 2016 Acts as well as para 50 and 159 of the NPPF) we are as yet unaware of any bespoke exceptions policy being introduced in either rural or urban areas. Please let us know if you come across one. There is of course no reason why your council could not introduce one to deliver plots under the new legislation.
