Promoting your register

    I am hoping to launch my register in the next few weeks. I have a half page in the local Property paper, will have posters and leaflets in libraries etc. and a press release in the local paper and for the self build websites. Is there anything else anyone has done with very little budget that was effective? I am going to ask people how they heard about the register so will be able to feed back which of my methods was most successful.

    Do you have a social media guru? Perhaps they could help you get the message our via Twitter, Facebook etc. And don’t forget to let the team on the Self Build Portal know (and NaCSBA), as they get a lot of hits on their websites and might be able to give you a plug in their News pages. You might also want to check out the “Need a Plot” section on the Portal – you could ping e-mails to the people (in your patch) who are listed on there and looking to self build, encouraging them to put their names on your register
